Lavender Essential Oil is a full-bodied steam-distilled oil from the flowering tops of the Lavender plant. Lavender may very well be the single most well-known essential oil known to man. It has an incredibly sweet, floral, herbal scent and is also highly prized for its many therapeutic properties. This includes promoting calm, relaxation, and being a nervous tension reliever. It can also be added to a carrier oil to help reduce the appearance of scars and wrinkles and help soothe alterations in skin integrity, such as during sun exposure or a minor cooking burn. Topical: For diaper rash Add 3-4 drops of any lavender into a teaspoon of a carrier oil of your choice and massage into the area 1-2 times a day.
Lavender essential oil can be used by adding a few drops to the bath, mixing it into lotion or massage products, or applying it directly to the scalp or massaging in a carrier into the joints. It can also mix well with many other oils, from pine and sage to cedarwood and nutmeg.
